The RELIGIOUS FARMER stood in his field one spring morning and stared up at the sky. The crops for the year were soon to be planted and the farmer stood and pondered on what to plant. Then oddly enough, there appeared unto him a vision of sorts. The vision was of large letters emblazoned across the sky. The letters were G…P…C, and nothing more was shown. The farmer stood there amazed for a long time, and then ran into the house to tell his wife what he had seen. He exclaimed the vision to his wife and family and they too were astonished. The farmer's wife asked her husband what these LETTERS meant. He answered her with great enthusiasm, "They mean for me to GO PREACH CHRIST!" That very day, the farmer left his farm, his work, his family and all that he had known and went everywhere "PREACHING CHRIST!" Several years went by and he finally returned home to discover that his family was gone, his farm was ruined and everything he once owned had vanished! He stood in the field crying, trying to figure out what had happened to him and his life. Then, there appeared an Angel unto him and he asked "Dear Angel, I have obeyed what was shown unto me and now I have lost everything!" The Angel, asked, "What was shown unto you?" The farmer explained, "Several years back I was given a vision to GO PREACH CHRIST, and I did what was shown and for this I have lost everything." Now the Angel stood in amazement, and stared at the farmer and questioned, "When was it shown to you to GO PREACH CHRIST?" The preaching farmer repeated the story of the vision and its letters G P C. The Angel said, "Whoever told you, that the letters meant GO PREACH CHRIST?" "Well," the religious farmer exclaimed in irritation, "This is what it meant and so I did what it said!" The Angel stood there slowly shaking its head back and forth, then replied, "I am very sorry that you thought that's what it meant, but the letters meant "GO PLANT CORN" not "GO PREACH CHRIST"!" The farmer at hearing this, slowly turned red with both anger and disbelief, and drove the Angel away! This tale alerts us to the signal of caution and helps us to better be aware of how minds that are set in a pre determined direction, by men's opinions, can draw seemingly accurate conclusions, to best fit their OWN RELIGIONS, CREEDS, IDEOLOGIES, UNDERSTANDINGS AND THOUGHTS!
