(Or better said, pure Teen Logic) We have four wonderful daughters and one of them is teased as a "dumb blond" even though she is not really a blond, nor is she really that dumb, well maybe a little unusual but aren't we all? On many occasions she seems to deserve the teasing appointed unto her by the many unusual antics or statements she makes. One such example of her lovely logic occurred one morning while we were getting ready to go to the airport. She was taking a shower while her older sister came into the bathroom and plugged in the hair dryer and began to blow dry her hair. I was in the nearby kitchen where I simultaneously began washing out a bowl using hot water, which of course made the shower pressure drop and altered the temperature of the water of the shower. A loud hollering came forth out of the shower aimed at the sister who was working her hair with the blow dryer. My lovely younger daughter, the so called blond, was commanding her sister, "To turn off the blow dryer, because it's making the shower TURN COLD!" …Very Logical…RIGHT…? We all had a good laugh but the real challenge came while trying to explain that using the blow dryer has nothing to do with the temperature of the hot water being changed in the shower. But it still took me several explanations on how this was not the blow dryers fault and she still isn't convinced! Now whenever the water temperature changes in the shower, for whatever reason, we all holler out, "Turn off that hair dryer!" The really funny thing is that she has convinced some of our friends to actually accept her point of logic? |
