SCIENCE VERSES SUPERSTITION?
Back around the turn of the century, a team of Archaeologists discovered a hidden tomb along the Nile River, still sealed from ancient times. The site was secured, until all proper authorities were notified, and every preparation had been made. Much publicity arose over this exciting find but the tomb could not be opened until all the state authorities were present. Beyond all the news, the local inhabitants proclaimed an ancient legend, that whoever broke into the Tomb would meet with evil at the hands of the Pharaoh’s Curse and this was so inscribed upon the main entrance!
Soon, all the archeological officials were on hand, along with special photographers and news reporters for the final opening of the ancient Egyptian Tomb. The team of chosen scientists nervously broke the seal and with the greatest anticipation entered into the long hidden burial chamber of the kings. Their discovery was magnificent, exceeding all and every imagination, yet, something very unusual began to happen to the many scientists. Within a short time from entering the tomb, all but two of the men had become mildly or seriously ill, several dying of a mysterious illness. All the symptoms were basically the same, and no immediate cure could be found. Of course, the magicians and superstitious minds declared, "The Curse of the Pharaoh!" It certainly seemed as though there was some type of a curse, but why then did not the entire team fall to its power? With a little scientific deduction and further investigation it was discovered, that those who were stricken, had all SHAVED THEIR BEARDS that morning! For the sake of the camera and the official festivities most of the on sight scientists had shaved themselves to look more presentable! The two that did not shave were spared from any illness or symptoms. This was the link that led investigators to understand that viruses, bacteria or germs, from decay and materials from long ago, having been sealed into the tomb had entered into the men's bodies through the pores of the newly shaven-scratched skin of the unaware scientists!
Superstitious curse, or scientific answer? There are laws of every type, which govern all realms (seen and unseen) of the universe. When these laws are broken or abused, expect there to be CONSEQUENCES! Most often, what man cannot explain, he then creates for himself an answer, thereby enhancing superstitions grip upon the human mind!
