THE EMBODIMENT OF PRIDE!
This has to be one of the most hideous manifestations of PRIDE that I have ever had the terrible opportunity to hear about. I heard the example from a German man who had survived the death incinerators at the Dakhau death camp in Germany during World War II. I personally had the opportunity to visit that dreadful place and spent the day wondering through the most unbelievable facilities one could imagine. Without all the horrible details, it was known that hundreds of thousands of humans were incinerated into ashes, bones and oil. These human by-products were then put to use in the German war efforts, but German Pride rose up in opposition to at least one of these products.
The story went: That when the German Air Force was running low on both fuel and oil for its killing machines, one innovative officer thought to use "human body oil" melted and extracted from their enemies, burned in the ovens, to replace or mix with the regular engine oil that was now in such shortage. The crux of this story is that when the prideful German master race pilots discovered that "Jew oil" was being used in their planes, they outright refused to fly them! This was no doubt, a startling insult to these superior men and their master flying machines. This scandalous outrage of mans egotism, establishes itself as one of the highest ranking acts of arrogance ever heard of in history.
Can we imagine, a trained conscienceless killer actually refusing to operate his mindless killing machine, because it partially functioned on the remains of human oil of innocence, taken from millions of helpless enemies? This abominable manifestation of prideful gall, exalted the entire German nation to the brink of self glory, just before its shameful and well deserved destruction!
Pride is Pride no matter how you weigh it: A fruit of the flesh and certainly not of Love or Goodness! Can we think that our pride is any different than a German pilots pride? No, even though ours might be clothed in unawareness, even though lesser to some degree, it really is no better, no different and it can also manifest to that very same height of arrogance. Have we ever considered that pride is very capable of killing, and disposing of others, who do not measure up to our superior thinking then casting them into the ovens of rejection? Is HUMAN pride so cunning as to disguise itself as SUPERIORITY?
