YOUNG or old, it doesn't really matter, better watch out for what you say, especially those famous and infamous words, "Never say Never!" Here within, one such memorable recollection comes to mind; which Once took place among a more zealous and outspoken group of youths. On one of their many moments of spontaneity it was fervently declared by one sure soul, who boldly announced and sternly testified, thus sealing into one of those fixed moments in time, that, "I'LL NEVER, NEVER GET MARRIED!" Then he added with more tasty vigor, "NEVER, NOT UNTIL A COW TURNS PURPLE!" Ok! We, the more experienced {the married ones} with all our past wisdom know that history and circumstances always unite together in one voice, announcing loudly......."NEVER SAY NEVER!" And as usual our wisdom came to pass, and time took its course four our young friend . Therewith, like fire bending steel, so went the "NEVER....ANNOUNCEMENT!" For shortly thereafter that young man, whose words were soon forgotten by his own memory but not by others, fell head over heals madly in love! Low and behold the wedding day arrived, the now seriously stricken bridegroom along with all his entourage of escorts, attendants and UN-FORGETTING comrades in mischief arrived at his brides house, which so happened to be in the country. There were cows, calves and other various animals standing in their respective pastures curiously observing the unusual gathering. Now along the entrance driveway, there in full view of the wedding party there stood one single cow leaning over the fence MOOING! Of course, this was no ordinary cow. But it was a special beast to help recall memory and mark the passing of fervent declarations! And YES.....YOU'VE GOT IT, JUST LIKE THE BRIDEGROOM GOT IT! For a MOST obvious and CONSPICUOUS, BUT at the same time a most BEAUTIFUL PURPLE MOOING COW STOOD RIGHT THERE…AND EVERYONE GOT IT!!! What can be said for that moment, and for the look on the grooms face besides ASTONISHMENT, RECOLLECTION, REALIZATION AND SURRENDER! Did he remember his DECLARATION to his many buddies who stood there innocently, blameless as a bucket of purple paint? O YES HE DID! Did he dare reconsider this day of joy because of his PREVIOUSLY MADE PLEDGE, O HECK NO! He and his wedding party could only laugh and enjoy the "rich color" (in this case PURPLE) of this memorable tale of NEVER SAY NEVER! Contact Author at: |
