Mom Slept Alone?
O anxious listeners, bend thy ear and hear the secrets of anticipation work pure misunderstanding into wonderful humor and glad tidings! Then hope this unexpected humor never greets you! A father returned home from a trip just when a storm hit, flashing with crashing thunder and severe lightning. It was about 2 in the morning when he finally entered into his bedroom. There he found his two children curled up in the bed with his wife, apparently they were scared by the loud storm and came to sleep with Mom. He quietly resigned himself to sleeping in the guest bedroom that night. The next day he talked to the children, and explained that it was ok to sleep with Mom when the storm was bad, but when he was expected home, “Please don't sleep with Mom that night, I really need my rest.” They said, “OK Dad we’ll do”.
After his next trip several weeks later, his wife and his children picked him up at the airport terminal at the appointed time. Since the weather was a little wet and the plane was late, everyone had come into the terminal to wait for the plane's arrival. As the father deplaned and entered the waiting area, his son saw his father coming out and came running & shouting, "Hi Dad, hi Dad…I've got some good news!" As the happy to be home father waved back, he said loudly, "What's the good news?" Since the father was one of the first passengers off the plane, the entire room bent their ears to join in with the good news. With a loud clear voice, the young son shouted out excitedly, "Nobody slept with Mommy while you were away this time!" The airport became very quiet, as everyone in the waiting area looked at the proud announcer of this wonder, then turned towards the shocked father to see his reaction to such good news! And then searched the rest of the area to see the Mom who had not slept with anyone while Dad was away, and sure enough, Mom was nowhere to be found, she had just kept on walking! Do you blame her, oh Joy?
