YOU NEVER KNOW!

 The siren blared its way up the highway and the police car soon found itself entangled into a traffic snarl that had been in progress for twenty minutes. This scene was observed by a tractor driver, who set waiting for the next load of rock to be delivered onto the construction site near to the highway. He saw the traffic jam and then he watched the police car become hopelessly caught into a trap which had no way out. On the far side of the road was an embankment and on his side there existed a deep trench, in which pipes were being placed. The highway had been narrowed down to two lanes and there was no way out for the anxious police car. The man sat there watching this for a moment and saw the predicament of the officers. He could see their frustration and efforts to extract themselves from this situation, but all without success.

The tractor operator, for some reason had an idea to get the officers attention and thought that he would back fill the ditch along side their trapped car, thereby making a bridge for them to cross over to the unused lanes on the other side of the construction site. Without hesitation he moved his huge BULL DOZER and turned it towards the ditch. He came to the edge and the officers caught his waving gestures of filling in the ditch for them. They waved their approval and the bull dozer went to work immediately. Within one minute the ditch was filled and packed down and then the police car was over the dirt bridge and onto the opposite highway speeding away with sirens blaring and soon disappeared over the hill. The tractor driver then thought about what he had done, for he had just filled in a deep ditch that now had to be cleaned out, and his boss was going to be mighty upset when this work had to be done all over again!

The police arrived at a neighborhood home just in time to save a little boys life who was choking to death on a toy. It was a very close call and unless the officers had been in the immediate area, the child would have died. The officers were very happy with their response, and ability to lend assistance to such a situation. It was fortunate that they had been the nearest available help in the area and knew the neighborhood and were dispatched to the call of terrible distress. They also considered the unusual response and willing action of that tractor driver! Once things had calmed down at the house, the ambulance arrived and the mother had been assured that all was well, her husband was finally notified and asked to come home as soon as possible.

The officers were filling out their report when the father burst into the house. Now the POLICE STOOD THERE IN AMAZEMENT AS THE FATHER RUSHED PASSED THEM, GRABBING HOLD OF HIS LITTLE BOY. THEN HE TURNED AROUND TO SEE, AND IN that moment of ASTONISHMENT, HE SAW THE SAME TWO POLICE OFFICERS THAT HE HAD COVERED THE DITCH FOR, JUST A SHORT TIME BEFORE!

Yes, the father had actually saved his own sons life! Thus, by being at the right place at the right time and taking that moment to react to the needs of others who were found helpless, he became the key in a deed, which returned to himself the highest REWARD!! After realizing what had taken place, he sat down on the couch, holding his little son next to his wife and wept, both with tears of joy and tears of wonder!

This true story carries with it a most fascinating array of pieces that were brought together like a puzzle, which could have displayed itself in a much different picture. The final picture could have been very displeasing, but these most unusual circumstances were made into a wonderful completion, by a mans THINKING, and by a mans CHOICES! We might not ever see such a peculiar event as this but we will be faced with many situations that will need to be dealt with quickly, and our choices could rearrange the result of the conclusion. We cannot know what our choices will bring about, so may our choices always be made wise, first with prayer, and always be thoughtful and for the good of others!
