Pig Impulse!

Things were very tough for Danny's family when they first arrived in that distant land and so he sought work to help bring in needed support. He finally managed to find a handyman's and carpenters job working for an old Australian farmer, building and repairing all sorts of farm things. Everyday after work he had to walk a long ways around the many farm buildings to his car, but he discovered that if he cut through the corrals right out back he could save a lot of distance and time. One day happy go lucky Danny was walking through the corrals and unexpectedly entered one, which housed a great massive, prized PIG!

Totally surprised, and having a complete dislike to these creatures called swine, but still, no doubt, it had to be the biggest pig he had ever seen and it was just standing there grunting and with its beady black eyes was watching him walk on by. Then, for whatever reason we might consider, maybe self protection, maybe his aversion was inspired, but let us count it up to an "IMPULSE," our young friend Danny got the idea to just smack the pig on the head with his hammer as he passed on by. Where that idea sprang from, we'll never really know and leave that to another story, but As soon as the hammer hit the old monster pig, it let out a hideous squeal and instantly fell flat to the ground, with all fours spread under it. It just lay there as if it were dead, totally and absolutely dead!

Now this really scared the "Ka-tootties" out of our young impulsive friend, because this huge ugly pig was a very special prized pig worth lots and lots of money.

He knew that if the farmers found out that he had killed their pig, he would not only lose his job, but he would also have to pay for the dang thing. His future suddenly flashed before his eyes and He saw himself being locked away in a prison, his parents home was taken away and all of them were exiled in shame back to America.

Immediately, he had no choice now, Danny looked around and seeing that no one was looking, he bent down onto his knees and out of pure remorse and fright, began to pray every prayer he could think of in behalf of this huge old pig which just lay there slumped over!

We can only imagine what kind of a prayer he might have prayed, especially when he already had a great disdain for pigs! Surely this had to be one of Danny's most foreboding moments. He was more frightened that one of those Australians might now come around the corner and see him bowed down in prayer, and the word would spread that they hired a "Pig praying American!"

I'm sure he muttered something like, "Let Blue Ribbons one day laid upon any unusual creature that I might have hit over the head accidentally with a hammer!" Or, "To all powers, assigned to such matters, be kind and move time back about ten minutes so I can make a better choice!"

Danny then departed the scene and as far as he knew, nothing was ever said about the pig, thus he figures that the unusual creature in the corral must have survived the unexpected hammer blow and must have been made well through his prayers.

"Oh terrible IMPULSES, how many lives have you ruined and how many youths have you slain in an instant?" Impulses are explosions of uncontrolled emotions, which sometimes need a little more guidance than just a feeling of fun or excitement! It's better to weigh out an "impulse" rather than act "impulsively" on it and end up praying for a Big Fat Pig!
