It was just one of those days where it would have been better to miss your jeep or to have been bitten by a snake on the way to your brain transplant…Why? Because this one guy, who was a stand in paymaster showed up at a far out camp where the New Guineaian soldiers had not been paid in four months and he ran into a little problem. The problem was; the acting paymaster who was standing in for his Good Buddy the real official paymaster (who was on a fishing trip) didn't think or know better to bring the back pay with him. The soldiers were real upset, in fact so upset that they proceeded to DEVOUR HIM! Yep, that's what they did, and not much was left to send home, just enough to let the real paymaster know that he better not forget their pay the next time he came out! The catcher was that this unfortunate acting paymaster was really a soon to be cook! And to add further injury to insult, the part of the paymaster the angry soldiers sent home to the real paymaster was his well known tattoos! For sure, and one of them read…Wish You Were Here! But he, the devoured paymaster, did get one good strike in at his consumers; he had been recently diagnosed with several very bad tropical diseases and was soon to be treated!
