Cortez saw that there was little hope in escaping and so "Focused" and began to fight his way through the thousands towards the king. By great luck and sheer strength and determination he somehow got to the king, who was also well armed. But Cortez fought his way right up to this mighty ruler and pierced him with his spear and killed this Great King Warrior. At that moment, the battle was lost for the hoards. They lost heart and began to flee. The small band of men, who remained, conquered one of the richest treasures ever won in history! It would be best to reduce this story of violence, death and battle down to where we might be able to draw from principle, rather than any act of war or from such tragic violence. The first word that comes to mind is "ODDS". There are few things worth fighting for that are not connected to ODDS. If we so desire to attain worthy goals, success or something of value, no doubt we will face the ODDS in our attempts. The second word that we might look at here is "FOCUS". No matter the ODDS, our minds must remain fixed upon the victory, and regardless the over whelming circumstances, somehow we must see our way through those ODDS!. The third word here is "CONFIDENT". Very few treasures or victories have been attained without CONFIDENCE, and somewhere in all this there exists another word which might be a little hard to come by…"COURAGE"! It is not being said here that this brutality or slaughter in any form was good. But in our own struggles we should use and apply every possible analogy that might help us to also CONQUER! We ourselves should be just as fierce when battling towards our goals while striving to get a foot up on life or dealing with difficulties or attempting to overcome our personal problems and faults. We too must face the ODDS, FOCUS on our challenges and be COURAGEOUS enough to pass through our overwhelming problems and slay our personal FAULTS which keep us from attaining the victory! Everyday, we as interactive beings move through new unexplored territory which automatically brings with it new challenges, carried upon its THRONE! We will learn that there are many things in life that can take authority and enthrone itself as ruler over our own characters. Sometimes faults take root within us long before we ever realize that they might one day rule our Personality and character, often rising up, challenging us with great odds. Our faults could begin to rule over our personalities and become so strong that it will take a "Cortez" of a battle to knock them down and take the victory from them, against all odds! It takes an extraordinary person to face himself and focus on what might rule over his life. Then in confidence, challenge the rulers which have enthroned themselves upon his or her character. This takes courage and if we desire to possess great treasures within ourselves, this battle must be fought and won! Good Luck! Contact author at: |

A short historical narrative here: Do you remember the conqueror of Mexico, Cortez? He invaded a nation of about 10 million strong, with only about 700 men. Yes they were armed but well out numbered. He was put on the run several times but there was one final battle between his remaining soldiers and over 200 thousand armed natives. They were losing the battle, just by sheer numbers, but in a last ditch effort, Cortez was fighting through thousands of men who were fighting against him; he was knocked off his horse but managed to get upon another one. He was wounded but went on. Then he saw the armies' king and Ruler, being carried upon a golden throne but the king was surrounded by hundreds of his personal guards and throngs of warriors. |
