You Just Can't Hide |

Warmer weather had finally arrived, the spring rains had turned to blue sky and everything was coming up roses! Mr. John Sneakerton had that warm weather urge to get outside and work in his garden and he was enjoying the outdoor work in the sun, when unexpectedly all things changed! For suddenly, a huge roar split the air and instantly a flashing silver object fell out of the sky and with earth shaking force thudded into the green damp lawn, just inches from where Sneakerton was kneeling and happily plucking weeds! It took more than a few moments for Sneakerton to recover from the tremendous impact but the shaking gardener finally got up from his shock and cautiously crawled over to what now appeared to be a very good sized hole in his yard. Cautiously at the edge he peered down into the five foot deep crater and saw the unusual object buried in the bottom. His eyes slowly adjusted and his mind eventually grasped that this was no ordinary object. For sure, it was more than just an unusual object, for it turned out to be just slightly smaller than a VW Bug; it was a 2000 POUND BOMB TO BE EXACT! As it goes or so it happens, it just turned out that somewhere above a military jet plane was making its practice turn and for some strange reason, unknown to the pilot or the weapons technician, the renegade bomb was released and fell some 30,000 feet burying itself five feet into the back yard of John Sneakerton, barely just missing him by an inch! The military went searching for their bomb but "shook up" and angry Sneakerton had already called the police! The news media got hold of the event and went to investigate the strange scene. The story ended up on the national evening News and Mr. Sneakerton became the "survivor" and news maker of the day. Now all was fine until a few days later, the police came back to Sneakerton's house and arrested him for several outstanding warrants for embezzlement, fraud, Federal racketeering charges and of course, jumping bail. It turned out that Sneakerton was not really Sneakerton, and it was found out that he had previously swindled some people out of very large sums of their favorite moneys. And purely by chance, one of his victims had seen him on the National News and reported this from three states away. Sneakerton was promptly arrested, tried, found guilty and went away to prison. The moral of this tale, is just like the title says, "You Just Can't Hide!" Very seldom does life let you get away with mistakes, dishonesty or acts of crime. No matter how far you might run to hide from the pursuit of justice, life seems to somehow keep tabs on you, especially if you got some kind of guilt hanging on to your life. There might be a few who think they get away with breaking of the law, but somewhere down the line it all catches up with you. Maybe not equal to John Sneakerton and his visiting 2000 pound bomb, but just remember, unless your mighty lucky, life's justice is gonna hunt you down! Better to live good and stay free, rather than living life always looking over your shoulder....waiting for that THUD!!! One thing more; you can run and run but there is one thing for sure, YOU CAN NEVER RUN AWAY FROM YOUR MIND! Life and history are full of endless examples of those who have tried; no one has ever been proven to have accomplished such an escape! There is only one proven way to live at peace with your greatest hunter (your mind) and that is to consult it often, especially when making life changing decisions! Better to be at peace with yourself, be safe and sound first with your own thoughts and thereby be free. There is nothing worse than to be chased day and night by your own inescapable thoughts!
